The Countdown: 7 Days

After a rather hectic and event-filled weekend; I've managed to lose so much time that I was unable to update the blog, apologies! Anyway, getting back on topic, there is not long now until the release of Guild Wars 2. There doesn't appear to have been much news other than a few photos and updates about an ArenaNet bike ride and their visit to GamesCom on the Guild Wars 2 Facebook page. Let's get to today's topic; Huge Bosses!
7. Huge Bosses

As many have you may already know; in Guild Wars 2 there are many different types of events which are able to chain into one and other. There are also special event chains which take much longer and are more difficult to complete which lead to a massive boss appearing. We have seen a small number of these bosses, the Shadow Behemoth who appears in the swamplands of Godslost Swamp, below Queensdale,
"an enormous crystallised dragon, glowing ominously purple it comes smashing heavily to the ground scraping for balance as the nearby rocks are shattered."
Tequatl the Sunless who appears in Sparkfly Fen and the Shatterer who appears at some point on the Dragonbrand which is a crystallised scar left in the ground by Kralkatorrik stretching from the north east of Tyria to the south east, ending in the Crystal Desert.

The Shadow Behemoth looks like a massive moving shadow with half it’s body out of the ground. It has two arms and and a head and uses each to devastating effect. His abilities range from creating portals with a furious roar, to sweeping its arms across the battlefield all the way to creating spiking rocks which plummet to the ground, severely damaging all players in the area affected. The Shatterer is a champion of Kralkatorrik and looks like an enormous crystallised dragon, glowing ominously purple it comes smashing heavily to the ground scraping for balance as the nearby rocks are shattered. It’s abilities are generally a mystery at the moment although many of them can be seen in videos on youtube; none of which have ever been seen in the betas or stress tests and so they are heavily likely to change for the full release. Tequatl the Sunless is another dragon like beast, a champion of Zhaitan. Tequatl is an undead champion who is capable of creating bone structures from the earth and firing poisonous fluids from its mouth and wings covering the area and blocking many incoming attacks. The world bosses I have seen in Guild Wars 2 are truly massive and beautiful, many people will see these as reason enough to play the game and I completely agree, bosses of this scale in an MMO cannot be found anywhere else.
